We are looking for a new colleague to join our team as Commodity Manager at our GCE subsidiary. The GCE Group is today Europe ́s leading company in the field of gas control and is involved in the development and manufacturing of all types of equipment for pressure and flow control of high-pressure gases. GCE’s main business originally concentrated in the oxyacetylene cutting and welding market. However, with almost 100 years of experience in the handling of high-pressure gases, the product range has now grown to include high purity and medical gas equipment.

- Develop strategy for assigned commodities and suppliers
- Deliver good negotiation results and mitigate inflation
- Drive market benchmark and supplier change in terms to achieve cost reductions
- Support execution of strategy
- Engage in supplier relationship management.
Main responsibilities 📚
- Work with Directors, Managers of Sourcing to develop 3 years strategy for assigned commodity
- Assist other Global Commodity Managers in execution of their assigned strategies (including execution of identified savings initiatives or strategic negotiation in-region)
- Mentor and coach junior team members to high grade talent
- Immediate Performance Objectives
- Benchmark and negotiate with supplier’s price reductions or other measures supporting ESAB/ GCE margin position
- The Big-Picture/ Strategic Deliverables
- Mitigate overall inflation in supply base and drive cost saving related projects
- Take full commercial management with dedicated group of suppliers and commodities, develop strategy and act as “owner” of commodity performance at a global company, work with leadership, creatively solve supply chain problems in challenging market environment
REQUIREMENTS
- Required 6+ years’ experience in Purchasing or Direct Sourcing roles
- Experience in strategy, finance, and/ or project/ program management desired
- Experience in international contract review
- Fluency in English (both written and verbal)
- Excellent MS Excel skills and general IT literacy
- Ability to travel as needed
- Strategic thinking & Negotiation skills
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Energetic, positive and can-do mentality, hands on
- Independent decision making: ability to make decisions in own scope and level, ability to recognize when support is needed
- Czech language knowledge
- Six Sigma knowledge
- Should Cost
- BSC/ MBA degree in supply chain, logistics-related field, or engineering
